I chose Crystal Cove Ceramics for my shop name because we live near Crystal Cove Beach and my passion for Crystalline glazed pottery.

It was in 2011, I was in college again, working towards my degree in landscape design that I decided to take my first ceramics class.

It was my first art class ever, of any kind. I took a wheel throwing class and even then I had no idea I would fall in love with clay.

I started making my sculptures from scrap clay left over from throwing. They just sort of developed on their own.

In the Summer of 2013, I was fortunate enough to apprentice with Tom Wallick. Tom's love and knowledge of Crystalline Glaze and pottery in general, made it an invaluable experience. He has been working with clay for over thirty years and is one of the best Crystalline Artisans out there.

I work in my home studio of sorts. I make all my pieces by hand on my wheel or table. I never use molds. I'm not a production potter. I enjoy making each piece unique.

Who knew I would become a Pottery Artist, Photographer, Shop Curator, Website Sales Manager, and Shipper.
All for the love of pottery.
